When choosing a therapist, people are likely trying to determine what it is like to actually spend an hour talking with that person, and rightfully so. This being the case, here’s what you should know about me: My sessions are casual and down-to-earth. I consider myself to have thoughtful, useful conversations with people, and humor can often be a part of sessions. I, by and large, stay away from vague questions, unusual exercises, or stuffy, odd language that therapists are known for.
Further, there is no reason that therapy needs to be tedious or overly difficult. I’d much rather my clients enjoy their time and feel able to talk about life worry-free. I am also committed to using modern, science-based practices because 1.) They are known to achieve results and 2.) I value your time highly, meaning what we do together needs to benefit you in a prompt and obvious way.
I often see adults or adolescents who are dealing with nervousness, intense stress, sadness, difficult break ups, personal loss, or difficultly connecting with others. Sometimes, these symptoms constitute depression or anxiety, but often, they are side effects of navigating a complex, modern life.
My experiences range from professional mentorship, treatment center leadership, community mental health, and private practice. I have also been known to volunteer my professional abilities in the Northern Colorado community. I possess an M.A. in Clinical Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology, and I continually work to stay up to date to best serve my clientele.
If you’re ready to have a thoughtful conversation with a regular guy, please call or email me today to get started. I look forward to working together!
